My anxiety was caused by a chemical imbalance also. In my case, it was brought about my a reaction to steroids. I was misdiagnosed for months as a “hormone” problem or a brain tumor until I researched myself and took my diagnosis of GAD to my doctor, who agreed with me. I take 10 mg of Celexa a day, which is 1/4 of the maximun dose. Celexa is an antidepressant but works for anxiety in smaller doses. Anxiety can be disabling and a lot of people do not understand it.

Yes Laurie. I am so glad you got correctly diagnosed and are feeling better. Thanks so much for your feedback.

I too suffer from severe anxiety and panic attacks and am extremely worried about the headaches i am now having… i get pain in the left side of my head just above my ear, which is worsened when i lean to the left or lean my head forward or back. this joined by palpitations and hot flushes and changes in body temperature are making me feel very uneasy but my doctor doesn’t seem to take it seriously!!

i’m worried that there may be an original physical cause for my anxiety because this has been a very sudden and unexpected personality change for me… i don’t really know what to do if my doctor doesn’t take me seriously!!
